Fishery Rules
Please familiarise yourself with the following rules and restrictions at Swillington Park before visiting.
The Fishery will be closed for the 2023 season due to ill health
Catch & Release Only
DO NOT REMOVE FISH FROM THE FISHERY ALIVE OR DEAD
All fish to be returned alive to the water as soon as possible. Report all fish deaths.
ANY REMOVAL OF FISH FROM THE FISHERY WILL BE TREATED AS THEFT AND WILL RESULT IN PROSECUTION under Schedule 1 section 2 of the Theft Act
WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO SPOT CHECK ANY ANGLER OR VEHICLE
to ensure fish are not being removed, transferred illegally, or stolen
Barbless Hooks Only
USE A DISGORGER AND UNHOOKING MAT WHERE POSSIBLE.
CARP ANGLERS MUST USE A CARP SIZED LANDING NET (MIN 30″) AND UNHOOKING MAT
If you need to leave your swim, all lines should be retrieved and the hooks secured to the rod.
Never leave rods on the bank with hooks still baited, as these food items could be picked up by birds or animals.
Please don’t feed us.
Your litter and dumped bait can harm and kill livestock and wildlife. Please take it home or use the bins provided.
Bait Boxes Only
LITTER KILLS ANIMALS TAKE IT HOME
You are responsible for the cleanliness of the peg you are fishing
Bait must be brought onto the fishery in BAIT BOXES ONLY
All bait must be removed from cans and plastic packaging before entering the fishery.
No Keep Nets
Rigs caught up in bank side vegetation, branches or underwater snags must be removed immediately where it is practical and safe to do so.
Report lost tackle if you cannot recover it.
Pegs and Rods
We reserve the right to restrict the use of extra rods
You must take in extra rods if they interfere with a neighbouring pegs swim
Do not fish across other pegs. Do not fish or occupy more than 1 peg at once
It is illegal to leave a rod unattended while fishing.
Never leave rods unattended while fishing. If you need to leave your swim, all lines should be retrieved and the hooks secured to the rod.
Never leave rods on the bank with hooks still baited, as these food items could be picked up by birds or animals.
Swimming and wading are not permitted in ANY circumstances.
Please take care around water at all times
Don’t Dump Bait
No nuts or dried seeds. Use ground bait in moderation
Do not dump spare bait in any of the waters or on site
Do not feed bait or anything else to livestock, or any animals.
You must not bring any fish or fish spawn, including any fish intended to be used as livebait onto the fishery
Please Don’t Litter
No litter must be left on the Fishery or Farm site, or on any access roads.
Anglers fishing a swim will be responsible for the cleanliness of the bank and water margin near peg
Always clear up litter before you leave – even if it’s not yours. If you see any litter pick it up and bin it
Responsible Behaviour
Drunken behaviour and under-age drinking or drug taking will not be tolerated
Any alcohol brought on site must be consumed responsibly and by over 18s only.
No radios or music players that cause a nuisance to other anglers
Do not light fires or disposable barbecues
No firearms, including airguns, to be brought on site
Junior anglers (16 & under) must be accompanied by an adult (18 or over) at all times. The accompanying adult is responsible for the juniors behaviour and liable for any damage caused
No Trespassing
Apart from the areas around the lakes and for access to the lakes anglers must at no time enter upon any other part of the fishery.
Anglers must at no time enter upon farm property or any adjoining property.
You must not in anyway remove, damage or interfere with the any of the vehicles, machinery or equipment on the fishery and farm site.
You must not break or damage any fence, tree, shrub or hedge, remove or interfere with water fowl, swans, other wild life or livestock, or take the eggs of any bird.
Park in designated areas only
All vehicles and contents are left at all times entirely at their owner’s risk
All gates must be closed immediately after entry or exit.
Disabled parking is for DISABLED anglers only.
No Parking on any access roads.
Any vehicle that becomes stuck and needs to be recovered will incur a fee.
Tickets and Access
Pay before you fish
YOU MUST PURCHASE A VALID TICKET BEFORE ENTERING THE FISHERY
Unless otherwise notified at the fishery office
To fish you must have; A valid UK Rod Licence
A valid Swillington Park Fishing Day, Night, or Season Ticket
ALL TICKETS ENTITLE THE HOLDER ONLY ACCESS TO THE FISHERY
Not transferable.

Tickets must be retained for inspection and are not transferable
Any day, night or season ticket found in the possession of any person other than the named holder while fishing will be cancelled.
You must fish only the lakes specified on your ticket. No fishing of any other waters at any time
No ticket. No entry
ANY NON FISHING VISITORS MUST REGISTER BEFORE ENTERING
This applies to anyone accompanying a ticket holder. An entrance fee may be payable.
WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO REFUSE ADMISSION AND SERVICE TO ANYONE at any time with or without reason and to cancel tickets at our absolute discretion.
A Respectful Environment
Abusive language or threatening behaviour toward staff or other anglers will not be tolerated.
You will be asked to leave the premises and the police or security may be called to escort you from the site.
Night Fishing Rules
A limited number of tickets are available for the serious angler for night fishing (Wednesday-Saturday nights only) subject to the following conditions:
Day fishing rules must be followed.
Places must be booked in advance either by phone or online.
You must be here 2 hours before lock up time (unless by prior arrangement).
Night tickets run from 10am to 10am the following day, if you wish to stay longer then you will also need to purchase a day ticket to fish until closing time the day following your night fish (subject to availability).
Parking is included in the price, after unloading your gear please park in the car parks ) not on the grass, unless you are fishing lake 4 providing it is dry you can park at the back of your peg on the level grass area not the banking. If it is wet then park on the hard standing before the tree.
No non-fishing guests allowed with the exception of non-fishing wives/partners at our discretion subject to filling in registration form and payment of £10/night. (and advance booking)
No children allowed unless they are fishing and have a ticket (no concessions) are over 10yrs old and accompanied by a responsible adult (with ticket) over 18 years old.
No stag parties or other groups who are intent on binge drinking (go to the pub instead.) sensible drinking is acceptable.
Bivvy or suitable tent required no fishing out of cars.
Camping stoves or freestanding BBQs only no disposable barbecues or open fires.
Use the toilets provided, not the banks ,woodland or anywhere else.
All litter must be left in the bins or taken home.
FOR SAFETY AND SECURITY CCTV IS IN OPERATION AT THE FISHERY
Disclaimer.
We (Swillington Park Fishing) reserve the right to refuse service and admission to anyone at any time with or without reason and to cancel tickets at our absolute discretion, and in that event all rights of the former ticket holder (including the right to enter the fishery) shall immediately cease.
We reserve the right to restrict or prohibit fishing on any lake at any time.
We reserve the right to amend any of the fishery rules at any time.
Any persons infringing any of the rules, or who is considered to be endangering their own, or any other person’s safety, will be liable to immediate removal from the fishery and the confiscation of their tickets.

Swillington Park Fishing accepts no responsibility for loss, damage or theft to any vehicle or property however caused.
By entering the fishery you agree and understand that you are at Swillington Park entirely at your own risk and that Swillington Park Fishing namely Mr A Cartwright and Swillington Organic Farm Ltd do not accept liability for any INJURY, LOSS, THEFT or DAMAGE, however it is caused. You agree to this and all other terms and regulations displayed at the fishery.
